SharePoint Implementation and Development Services
Timlin’s team of experts can help you with all your SharePoint implementation services and project needs.
Our team consists of experts in the migration and upgrade paths for SharePoint. With dozens of successfully completed engagements, we have learned to master the best practices and methodologies for migrating customers to newer versions of SharePoint. We have significant experience upgrading complex and custom environments, as we have a deep background in SharePoint and custom solutions. Our migration experience can help take you to SharePoint 2013, SharePoint Online, and now, SharePoint 2016.
We have delivered projects moving to and from hosting companies, cloud providers, and on premise farms ranging from simple database migrations, all the way through multi-phased approaches, requiring ongoing sharing of services between concurrent farms (old and new) during the process of upgrading. When it comes to upgrades and migrations, there’s no one better than Timlin.
SharePoint Intranets – Office 365 and On Premise
The Timlin team has built hundreds of Intranet solutions for our customers. We have expertise in defining, designing, and delivering intranet solutions for both on premise and Office 365 environments. We can also deliver hybrid intranets that combine on premise and O365 environments into one seamless solution. Our intranet solutions are cleanly designed, functionally rich, utilize SharePoint best practices, and ensure you gain the critical user adoption that is required for a successful intranet.
Recently, Timlin announced a new solution offering that enables you to build out new intranets in much less time for much less money. This solution is available to both on premise and Office 365 environments. Our “pre-built solutions” are based on our many years of experience and ensure best practices are followed.
Design and Branding
User adoption with SharePoint is an ongoing issue. One of the areas causing adoption challenges is the out of the box look and feel of the platform. Timlin has successfully implemented many custom designs onto SharePoint solutions. We offer three levels of customization to the design and branding of the SharePoint platform:
- Customized themes: this is a simple, low cost solution to providing your users with a slightly modified UI. Timlin will apply updated themes using configuration only to present an enhanced end-user experience.
- 3rd Party Template: With the continued growth of the SharePoint platform, Timlin has implemented a number of 3rd party templates onto the Platform. These 3rd party solutions can be purchased for a fraction of the cost of a full design and branding exercise. The solutions provide you with templates that can be tweaked to match your organizations style guide and versions can be purchased that provide a mobile friendly, responsive design. We have seen this as a very cost effective way to deliver a custom intranet design.
- Fully Custom Design: In this approach, Timlin experts will go through the full design process with you from initial Information Architecture (IA) through the full design solution. Our designers will present multiple page design options starting with the home page. We will iterate through the process to produce a final design that is then implemented in the SharePoint platform. This approach ensures we can meet the latest design approaches and deliver a clean, responsive, interactive and engaging design on top of the SharePoint platform.
Public Web Sites
SharePoint provides many functional and infrastructure features that enable you to more effectively engage and market your services to your web site visitors. With today’s internet, it is critical that you provide end users with an interactive and engaging experience. SharePoint provides many out of the box features to enable this interaction. In addition, SharePoint base features such as multi-language support, workflow approvals, blogs, and wikis are all examples of features that make SharePoint a great website platform. Our solutions not only take advantage of these features, but we take the time to design and deliver website solutions that are designed for today’s usage – simple yet engaging, and designed for the mobile and tablet experience.
Timlin performs a series of custom assessments for a wide range of clients. Many of these are the start of a Managed Services engagement, but some organizations really want to level-set where they are with SharePoint and determine what, if any, issues exist within their infrastructure that need to be addressed before undertaking additional projects on the platform. We think it’s like checking your oil, tire pressure, fluids, brakes, etc., before taking your car on a cross-country vacation.
Our assessment is not just an automated script. Instead, we choose to provide an experienced SharePoint Architect with direct access to our client and their environment. Our assessments include end-user interviews and discussions with IT to talk about issues. It involves extensive research into the specifics of a SharePoint farm, focusing on some of the issues that can be common to many implementations. The result is often a detailed, 30-page report covering the positive and negative elements, and culminates with a meeting to discuss strategy and risk associated with the findings.
We offer customized training for your specific SharePoint needs. Unlike most training organizations, Timlin does not offer standard, pre-built training options. Our clients use our services for training when they need to provide a more targeted set of consultant-directed assistance with the SharePoint platform or with a specific solution. We charge for our trainer, not by the student, thus potentially saving our clients’ money with a custom approach compared to a canned set of training offered to a classroom. We will come to our clients’ location to offer the services, and will be available to help with any additional SharePoint services needs as well to combine the productivity offered with both training and services rolled into one.
